Handling the Workers' Compensation Case From Start to Finish

RAPID CITY, SD – Heather Lammers Bogard, partner at Costello Porter Law Firm, will speak at the “Handling the Workers' Compensation Case From Start to Finish” Seminar being held at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn in Rapid City on Wednesday, August 26th, 2015. 2015 SoDakSACA Director’s Retreat

KEYSTONE, SD -- On Saturday, April 18, Heather Lammers Bogard spoke at the Director's Retreat of the South Dakota School Age Care Alliance about "Legal Matters in the Workplace." She spoke on the hiring and firing of employees and common areas of concern for employers, including FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act), ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, agency law and worker’s compensation. She also discussed immunization of children and provided general recommendations to avoid liability as an employer. "In today's work environment, there is a multitude of legal questions for employers and I was glad that I could answer just a few of them," Lammers Bogard said.

Hispanic and Women Farmers and Ranchers Claims Resolution Process

The Hispanic and Women Farmers and Ranchers Claims Resolution Process is nearing its conclusion, and attorney Jeffrey D. Swett received many favorable results for his clients. Costello Porter Law Firm Donates $125 to Pennies for Puppies

On Monday, December 15, 2014, Costello Porter Law Firm donated 12,500 pennies to the Robbinsdale Elementary school fundraiser “Pennies for Puppies Dollars for Dogs” that raises money for the Humane Society of the Black Hills. Attorney Joe Lux said, “Pennies for Puppies just seemed a lot of fun and you were here and it is loads of fun. Costello Porter is 125 years old so we're giving back to 125 different organizations and groups, and what better than kids and puppies?” The donation by Costello Porter Law Firm is only part of the “125 to 125” year-long charitable campaign to help celebrate its 125th year as a law firm.

17th Annual Festival of Trees

Costello Porter donated a tree for the 17th Annual Festival of Trees to benefit Behavioral Management Systems. The tree will be auctioned off on November 21st at the Ramkota.
